Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 31, 2026
This policy explains how Sevynn Shades ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit expo.sevynnshades.ca, register to attend the Sevynn Shades Beauty Career Expo, or apply to exhibit as a vendor. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Who we are
Sevynn Shades is a salon and nail academy located at 33 King St. W, Bolton, Ontario L7E 1C7. We organize the Beauty Career Expo, taking place on November 24, 2026 at the Apollo Convention Centre in Mississauga.
What we collect
When you register to attend: your first and last name, email address, phone number, the role that best describes you, your experience level, the type of work you're looking for, and, if you choose to share them, your Instagram or portfolio link and how you heard about the expo.
When you apply as a vendor: your business name, contact name, email address, phone number, Instagram handle, business category and description, booth and branding choices, the positions and number of openings you're hiring for, and any logo or job postings you send us.
When you visit the website: standard technical information such as your browser type, device, pages visited and the website or ad that referred you. We collect this through cookies and the Meta Pixel (see "Cookies and advertising" below).
How we use your information
- To process your registration or vendor application and confirm your spot or booth
- To send you a confirmation email and event details, such as the date, time, location and what to bring
- To promote participating vendors using the business information and logo they provide
- If you are an attendee and tick the box to share your details with vendors, to give your name and email to participating vendors after the expo so they can contact you about job opportunities. We share this only with your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.
- To send event updates and reminders, but only if you ticked the box to receive them
- To measure how well our ads and website work and to show expo ads to people likely to be interested
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the website and forms. They process information on our behalf and only for the purposes above:
- Vercel, which hosts this website
- Resend, which sends form notifications and confirmation emails
- Google (Google Forms and Google Workspace), which stores vendor applications and our email
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for advertising and ad measurement through the Meta Pixel
Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Cookies and advertising
This website uses the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta Platforms, Inc. It uses cookies to record actions such as visiting a page or submitting a form. This helps us measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show them to people who are likely to be interested in the expo. Meta may combine this information with other information it holds about you under its own Privacy Policy.
You can control how ads are shown to you in your Facebook ad preferences, opt out of interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada, or block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Email and text messages
After you submit a form, we send one confirmation email about your registration or application. We send event updates and reminders only if you agree by ticking the box on the form. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying "unsubscribe" or emailing us at the address below.
How long we keep it
We keep registration and vendor information for up to 12 months after the event so we can follow up and plan future events, then we delete it. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will.
How we protect it
We use reputable providers with industry-standard security, limit access to the people who need it to run the event, and send all form data over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw your consent and have it deleted. To make a request, email us and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Age
The expo is intended for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date.
